The aim of this programme is to provide an oversight into the importance of workforce wellbeing to meet a legislative and Industry need in order for students to acquire the

knowledge, attributes and competences required to understand the importance of employee health and wellbeing.

This Certificate will enable participants to develop an insight into the importance of Workforce Wellbeing within the area of Health and Safety and Human resources, offer insight to the student as to what this should entail, should the wish to pursue further training and education in this area.

Upon completion learners should be able to;

• Demonstrate an understanding about the importance of employee health and wellbeing and its relevance in an organisation’s approach to its people management and evaluate management practices and policies in relation to staff health and wellbeing

• Critically assess the way in which the physical environment influences the health of workers, and the interventions required to create a supportive physical environment

• Demonstrate an understanding of the requirements of legislation and codes of practice as it relates to employees and how they impact employee health and wellbeing

• Plan, prepare, develop and deliver effective communication and training programmes on staff health and wellbeing

• Demonstrate the skills required to develop a systematic approach to promoting positive mental health to minimise work- related stress in your respective organisation

• Employ a range of transferable skills to include a systematic approach to decision making, auditing and problem solving in investigating incidents, preparing reports and making cost effective proposals to eliminate and prevent recurrence of issues that impact staff health and wellbeing

• Demonstrate how ongoing advancements in technology impact employee wellbeing in the workplace

• Apply the required knowledge to maintain records and communicate effectively, using both oral and written methods of communication on information pertaining to employee wellbeing.
