Workshops Overview

Blended Learning

 Workshops will be delivered virtually. The training will be live-streamed using a virtual training platform, complete with 2-way audio, visual presentations, course chat, and live questions which allows for in-classroom and online student interactions. While laptops/desktop PCs are the preferable option, mobile devices can also be used. But, please note that students usually perform better when interacting with virtual classrooms when using a keyboard and mouse. Students can type questions directly to the instructor, or ask a question using their computer microphone. Remote students should be aware that the instructor will call upon them for their input just as if they were in the physical room. All instructions, course work, and materials needed by the student will be sent out in advance for the student to print.  It is recommended that everyone should have a notebook available to take notes.

1.  Coaching Virtual Teams

By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Use the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) model to frame the challenges of remote working.
  • Use proven communication skills/tools/insights to ensure that Key processes and procedures are used and maintained in an accurate timely manner and compliant with company procedures
  • Develop their confidence to communicate effectively and empathetically with staff.
  • Use the conversational Intelligence dashboard to maximise business conversations.
  • Hold reports fully accountable for the delivery of KPIs
  • Explore the challenges of home working for remote staff e.g. shared spaces/internet issues.
  • Use active listening & calibrated questions to nourish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Facilitate discussions using the GROW model to identify joint solutions to difficult issues arising.

 

 

2.  Effective Email Communication

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Understand the requirement to communicate with colleagues in a professional manner
  • Deliver excellent Customer Service to  Internal and/or External Departments.
  • Recognise that effective communication including email, telephone and person to person underpin good working relationships.
  • Understand and refine email etiquette in line with company standards
  • Manage situations when things go wrong – choose the correct response
  • Be aware of their responsibility to comply with company policies and current legislation including GDPR and Equality

 

 

3.  Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  •  Identify their critical thinking skills and identify their critical thinking style.
  • Explore the critical thinking process and be able to assess diverse viewpoints/contributions.
  • Improve key critical thinking skills, including active listening and questioning.
  • Systematically analyse context and information to clearly understand and identify a problem.
  • Use critical thinking and problem-solving tools to overcome obstacles and objections.
  • Select the best technique for making decisions.
  • Learn how to avoid individual and collective decision-making pitfalls.

 

 

4.  Conflict Management

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  •  Review their understanding of and the ability to manage conflict effectively.
  • Implement a range of preventative strategies that foster and promote harmonious working relationships.
  • Explain the role, function, and forms of expression of conflict in the workplace.
  • Demonstrate good practice in managing conflict using the Thomas & Kilmann model
  • Identify the conflict continuum and the value of early intervention.
  • Apply  a range of practical interventions in common conflict scenarios.
  • Evaluate the benefits of reflective practice in identifying and improving their personal response to conflict.
  • Practice the use of the FBI model in managing interpersonal conflict at work

 

 

5.  Communicate with Influence  

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  •  Understand the hierarchy of roles; exploring the leader as influencer and the importance of business acumen and commercial insight in the influencing process
  • Explore the difference between influencing and persuasion
  • Appreciate a variety of influencing styles and understand the impact of positive leadership
  • Define and review their understanding of negotiation, delegation and employee motivation  Manage difficult conversations with ease and be able to find common ground
  • Communicate key messages to  ensure employee accountability
  • Examine the push/pull influencing styles

 

6.  Change Management  

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Explore a range of contemporary change management models.
  • Identify “change agents” in specific change activities.
  • Recognise ‘change personalities’ and respond appropriately.
  • Assessing the impact of the impending changes on employees and team members.
  • Develop a communications plan and involve key stakeholders.
  • Plan activities in line with the objectives of the change process.
  • Ensure that your employees feel safe and involved in the change process.
  • Support employees/colleagues during times of uncertainty.
  • Identify and communicate success indicators of the process change, and ensure that they KRAs are regularly measured and reported on

 

7.  Modern Teams  

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Define the components of a high performing team.
  • Identify roles within teams and explore the importance of recognizing complementary strengths and skills within a team.
  • Develop clear and effective team communication strategies.
  • Overcome challenges and develop problem-solving solutions within teams.

  • Develop increased confidence as an effective leader.
  • Utilise techniques to gain team consensus, commitment, and create a clear vision for a team.

8.  Conversational Intelligence  

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Learn new and effective powerful conversational skills that prime the brain for trust, partnership, and mutual success.
  • Explore new insights on conversation driven by neuroscience research from across the globe.
  • Understand and apply conversational intelligence to enhance workplace communications.
  • Use Judith Glaser’s framework to identify what kind of conversations trigger higher-level intelligences such as trust, integrity, empathy, and good judgment.
  • Explore Glaser’s 3 levels of conversation and understand the psychological, physiological and emotional impact of conversation.
  • Practice conversational intelligence and level set your conversations through the use of tools, examples, conversational rituals, and practices for all levels of employee.
 

9.  Virtual Effectiveness

By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Understand the meaning of and the need to develop a personal effectiveness mindset.
  • Identify insights into the factors that make remote working challenging.
  • Apply strategies for virtual effectiveness and communicate empathetically with colleagues.
  • Use proven communication skills/tools/insights to ensure that key processes and procedures are used  and maintained in an accurate timely manner and compliant with company procedures
  • Explore and apply the Successful Remote working framework  SPLIT in their work.
  • Develop their confidence to communicate, connect with and motivate team members.
  • Use the conversational Intelligence dashboard to maximise business conversations.
  • Examine the concept of psychological safety and appreciate the need to work at connecting with colleagues.
  • Facilitate discussions using the GROW model to identify joint solutions to difficult issues arising.

 

10. Time Management

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Explore the time management/priority matrix  – self-assessment time management tool
  • Manage their work time according to the company’s priorities
  • Distinguish the difference between efficiency and effectiveness
  • Establish healthy work-life boundaries
  • Develop strategies to communicate challenges with a supervisor, team lead or line manager
  • Manage their personal time and focus their attention on non-work activities to recharge
  • Know when to relax and switch off – introduction to techniques such as meditation, deep breathing exercises and mindfulness
  • Identify their conflict management style and learn how to manage conflict in your day to day work.

                                    11. Managing Difficult Conversations

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Set the intention of the conversation and consider the perspective of  your conversation partner.
  • Learn how to set goals for achieving ‘win win’ outcomes.
  • Prepare to engage in a difficult conversation and stay true to your key messages.
  • Explore a range of possible derailers and devise responses to extreme emotions or negative reactions.
  • Actively listen to vernal and nonverbal cues – appreciate the value of slowing down.
  • Become comfortable with silence and assess the full picture before offering a response.
  • Use calibrated questions to explore areas of conflict or disagreement.
  • Be open minded and be able to demonstrate empathy towards your conversation partner.
  • Allow space for your conversation partner to express and be heard.
  • Summarise action or points of agreement at the close of the conversation.

 

 

                                             12. Stress Management

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Examine and critique workplace and lifestyle practices that may be triggering stress reactions.
  • Examine the 7 habits of highly effective brains.
  • Explore the basic principles of positive neuroplasticity and develop the capacity to manage our own well-being over time.
  • Increase our resilience in the face of future stressful situations.
  • Apply proven mindfulness techniques to manage stress.
  • Devise a simple exercise regime to manage the effects of stress.
  • Practice breathing and relaxation techniques (with a qualified practitioner) that will help to harmonise and balance the body and mind during a stressful event.

 

                                               13. Supervising Remote Teams 

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Explore the remote working landscape and the nature of the Knowledge, Gig and VUCA economies.
  • Identify and apply a range of remote coaching models & interventions to their work with teams.
  • Understand that strategic coaching methods will enhance workplace practices e.g. operational planning, problem-solving, staff appraisals etc
  • Develop and apply a range of active listening techniques to enhance remote workplace conversations and maximize results
  • Assess the concepts of ‘teaming’ and ‘unbossing’ and ‘servant leadership’ in remote team supervision
  • Develop a growth mindset and motivate teams through crises and uncertainty
  • Hold employees accountable for actions/tasks/projects and avoid micromanaging
  • Use the ‘Leadership Toolkit’ to Identify roadblocks and respond to objections and other barriers to performance

 

14. Personal Effectiveness

By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Fine-tune your interpersonal communications to respond to the changing global  landscape.
  • Respond and adapt to the challenges presented in a VUCA world.
  • Focus on soft skills and innovative communication tools that are guaranteed to improve your personal effectiveness.
  • Evaluate barriers to effective communication and identify solutions to everyday communication dilemmas.
  • Learn about conversational intelligence which is grounded in neuroscience – a highly impactful tool that will empower employees to maximize the impact of every conversation at work.
  • Develop a greater awareness of themselves and how they interact with others.

 

15. Leadership Coaching

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Explore and apply a range of coaching models & interventions to their work with employees.
  • Understand that effective coaching will enhance workplace practices e.g. operational planning, problem-solving, staff appraisals etc
  • Identify a range of coaching styles and explore their personal approach to coaching others
  • Develop and apply a range of active listening techniques to enhance workplace conversations and maximize results
  • Improve employee performance through individual coaching and/or use of coaching tools e.g. GROW Model
  • Develop and use calibrated questions to re-frame situations and challenge employees
  • Hold employees accountable for actions/tasks/projects and avoid micromanaging
  • Use our coaching toolkit to support key interactions with employees
  • Develop a greater awareness of themselves and how they interact with others.

 

16. Wellness Toolkit 

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • ·        Identify the psychological, physical and social aspects of workplace wellness.
  • ·        Appreciate the workplace wellness hierarchy: healthy employee, team, company.
  • ·        Define wellness and identify a range of factors that cause ill health in the workplace.
  • Develop and model a wellness mindset across the company and contribute to the ongoing education of staff and colleagues.
  • Develop a range of stress reduction techniques to enhance day to day self-management.
  • Explore the concept of mindfulness and learn how mindful work practices can alleviate otherwise difficult or stressful workplace situations.
  • Learn how to maximize energy levels through the correct nutritional intake.
  • Build a simple exercise programme for the working day.
  • Explore and assess the approach to nutrition and exercise and create an action plan.
  • Assign a value to self-assessment and improvement of self-care habits.

 

17. Presenter Masterclass    

 By the end of this training programme trainees will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver highly impactful presentations either in person or in a virtual setting.
  • Plan and develop content that will ensure that your presentation is outcome focused, dynamic and memorable.
  • Examine and apply 8 principles of presenting either face to face or in a virtual setting.
  • Identify issues that are likely to impact the effectiveness of a presentation.
  • Select appropriate presentation materials and aids to support a presentation to a large or a small audience.
  • Manage questions from the floor and provide considered response/feedback.
  • Understand the power of influence and ethical persuasion in the delivery of your presentation.
